In this location you will see a variety of Cottonwood Trees and bushes. The Cottonwood is a part of the Willow family and the Poplar genus. These white, fluffy, pollen like trees are usually found in southern regions of the Unites States, however they grow best when located near streams, irrigation ditches and around lakes. The tree’s flowers ripen in late March and into April, identified by their cotton-like fuzz at the ends of the branches. Although these trees grow fast, they are prone to wood decay and only have an average life span of 70 years. While this white fluffy friend may be commonly mistaken for pollen, it still may alert your allergies!
